Sophie is on short-nap #3 today. Can't really complain. Two long naps, 3 short ones. It's all good!
My kitchen is a complete and utter disaster. But I cooked a meal!
Sophie's fingers are stained blue from eating blueberries. So glad I froze some from orchard-picking this summer and haven't used them all in baking.
Madeleine looks like a very big girl to me in her new jeans. When I sent her off to daycare I nearly cried seeing her walk away.
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate Madeleine's very serious, random, and frequent exclamations of love for us. It's so wonderful to hear. "Mom, I love you. I love you, Sophie. I love you, Daddy." That's the way to do it. She's got it right.
Lots of chocolate in the Halloween candy this year.
Only 50 more pages in Count of Monte Cristo! Going to the APHA conference on the metro these past 3 days has really helped me roll through the pages.
I love the metro.
Gorgeous, lovely, unbelievable, sunny weather today! YES!!!!!!!
I should have done my MPH or PhD at Johns Hopkins. They rock. Too bad it's too late now. Maybe in the future I can be affiliated with them. Center for a Livable Future. Awesome. Great people. Great thinking.
How did it get to be November already? Where is my life? How is it passing me by so quickly? Stop, please! Life! Come back! Slow down!
Christmas music. Enter stage left in 13 days!
I love people.
Favorite moment this morning: Madeleine actually asked me repeatedly to read the Book of Mormon to her. I think it's because I made the story of the brother of Jared, in Ether, pretty darn exciting; ship building, seeing God, pretty exciting story-line. But we're all the way in Chapter 7 now... pretty gory stuff. Hard to make that family drama and murder age-appropriate.
Sophie is starting to nurse less and less. I'm so so so sad about it. Especially since she's dropping the daytime feedings but still likes to nurse at night.
Madeleine is actually doing a great job self-regulating on the Halloween candy. What an example she is to me!
Marc is growing a mustache for some work fundraiser. Bah. I told him he has to shave it before Sophie's birthday so he doesn't look like a pedophile.

ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures. Madeleine looks like such a big help.
I'm really really loving nursing now. I used to dislike it but now I just can't wait each time (almost). Those sweet little eyes looking up at me...the little hands fidgetting ...little ankles crossed hehe. You are a great example and support to me. Happy November!! Crazy!
