Happy Christmas Tree Love Cookies

Ah yes, that's right. We only have two cookie cutters: a Christmas tree and a gingerbread person. So, that's how our Valentine's Day cookies were shaped. I tried to cut out little hearts {so apropos don't you think for V-day? Ha!} but upon baking the distinction was muddled and it looked like little ginger-people had terrible surgeons. Furthermore, it was a mess. I don't often... rarelly...ever... make sugar cookies. Too time intensive! But LOVE eating them. So this was the holiday to commit myself to the task. Yeah. Took me 3 days. Day one: make dough. Day two: roll, cut, bake. Days thereafter: make frosting and frost and eat/give away individually. Over.

P.S. Yes, I really need to learn how to use photoshop so that I can haze out the breast pump, messy counters, and thermal laminators that are all in the background of my pictures. Indulge me and use your magic brain photoshops and ignore said backgrounds.

  1. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO soft and chewy, my fav kind of sugar cookie. And the heart surgery looks so cute!

  2. I hardly ever make sugar cookies either. It looks like Madeleine had fun! That's what matters, right?
