That's right. One week after Marc's family left we flew north of the border to visit our Canuck neighbors. Well, really, to visit my extended family. My parents and brother drove up from Utah and we flew into Calgary and met up with the ASIAN side of my family! I haven't seen my grandparents in 12 years and Marc and Madeleine had never met them, so this was a big event. We spent most of our time EATING! Lots of delicious homemade Chinese food, Chinese pastries (bow bow), dim sum, and seafood. We also hung out chatting with the family, went to the driving range, played Wii, and visited Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. We hiked, had a picnic, and adored Madeleine. Marc even took a dip in one of the glacial lakes there. Marc learned how to tie a bow tie, as taught by my grandfather, Gong Gong, and Marc and I learned how to play Mah-jong! Awesome! Marc really got in good with the family and I'm happy my hubby fit in well with my Asian relatives! It was a wonderful week vacation. Thank you for the good times!
Below are some pictures to sum up the vacation:

ReplyDeleteOh how fun!!! All that food sounds divine!!! Glad you guys could get away and see your family...12 years is a long time!
ReplyDeleteY'all should come up and visit New Haven before leaving the east coast! Lori and I got a Mah-jong set in San Francisco, and would love to play! And watch Holly and Madeleine play more, now that they're both older!
