What to say?

What is it with little babies loving to rub their heads against your head when falling asleep? Do any other babies do this? Madeleine and Sophie are head-rubbers (sometimes head-butters). It's adorable and also kind of weird. I love napping with them but Sophie really likes to grind her forehead into my nose/cheekbone.

It's autumn time! Will someone please make me some clam chowder and may I wish for towel warmers?

So, I averaged about 40% viewing of each General Conference session. Anyone else out there with kids who was able to listen to the prophet more than that? How?

I realized the other day that my girls hadn't seen their father for a looong time. Or long time for me at least. They saw him Saturday night and then didn't see him again until Tuesday after work. Back to back call days meant that he got up earlier than they do and came home after they were in bed. Two whole days without seeing him even though they were in the same house! I know this is not that much considering some medical (or other) professions, but it felt like a lot to me. Thank goodness it doesn't happen very often! It was precious when Madeleine saw him walking home (we were out taking a walk too) and looked at me..."That's Daddy?" Yes, sweet child, you are remembering correctly. Then she ran towards him with her arms wide open saying, "Daddy! Daddy!"

I have never owned and rarely use Apple products but am still sad to hear about Steve Jobs passing. Creative innovator.

Tick, tock! The stress! I am already starting to stress out about this most busy time of the year! Holidays, holiday, holidays! And everything in between. These weeks fly and I feel like it will be December 31st before I know it. Yikes. I need to breathe.

Mastitis. Again. Ouch. 'Nuf said.

I need to mop our floors. But to me, that means hands and knees - hard work. I don't believe in mops. Or sweeping for that matter. I like my dust buster and good old fashioned rags for mopping. Does anyone still do this besides me? Am I the only sucker for punishment?

I have no been on hold on the 'telephone' (thankfully I'm calling from my computer) with the doctor for 48:15 minutes. They keep telling me that my call is very important to them, but I'm starting to wonder.... 49:08...49:54...

I'm getting the travel bug. I don't think it will happen because, as previously stated, between now and the end of 2011 I feel like we already have every weekend booked. But oh, I so want to go somewhere. Suggestions?

The pics were just because. Obviously. They are cute.

One is Madeleine with Ranger Sue and a bunch of other scallywags up in Shenandoah for their little nature exploration (love the way she's holding her clipboard!) and one is Sophie in all her baby glory.

  2. Well I do sweep (with a teeny little brush and dust pan, so it's hand and knees) but I do mop with a rag and bucket. And yes, my kitchen floor needs mopped badly (my socks told me, yeah... :) (oh and I am missing the east rather badly at the moment, I guess you don't realize how much you like something until you leave right?!)

  3. head rubbing while sleeping: check
Conference viewing at 40% -- well, maybe a little more during the session we invited another family over and our 3 walkers drifted in and out of the room (the baby napped most of the time.)
Mopping with a cloth: how else do you get the weeks of stuff off the floor? You can't mop that up! Elbow grease is required!
Your kids are so cute. Love Sophie's facial expression.
Travel bug? I like to wander and stop at someplace random. But maybe that doesn't work as well with kids. Unless the random place is a playground.

  4. Travel bug? Shall we take a trip en France ensemble? (Last time I saw you there was the last time I was there.) By the way, I actually prayed a French family to move to my town and they're coming over for dinner tomorrow night! Their kids, who just happen to be my boys' ages, are bilingual - I've died and gone to heaven!
