Shhhh... a schedule.
*Note: While reading this post, please whisper.
Shhhhh. She's sleeping. That's right. Right on schedule, I think, finally. Madeleine has some semblance of a schedule (please pronounce in the British accent, "shhed'ule"). For the past 2 months Madeleine has pretty much kept to a schedule of up at 7 or 8 am, awake for 2 hours exactly, and then takes a nap for 1.5 - 2.5 hours. This is great schedule for me. Not too early. She gets some sleep in the morning hours when I can clean, shower, read, do homework, etc.
And she goes to bed almost every night at around 9 pm. The middle hours of the day are kind of a free for all as to whether and when she naps, but I'm okay with that, as long as we maintain the morning nap. Furthermore, she usually goes down for her nap and down at night to sleep without any fuss. We just lay her down, sing a song, and she's out. Yay! Hooray! Shhh... Hooray!
Sigh. Semblance of a schedule. What bliss.

I COMPLETELY rely on my kid's routine, it's like getting a big safe hug from the clock (that was a weird analogy but you know what I mean). Congrats on your new schedule!
ReplyDeleteAAhh I loved it when the kids finally hit that stage!!
ReplyDeleteYay Madeleine! I can't wait until Brooklyn is on an actual "time" schedule. She kind of has a schedule but the times are different every day. What a great day to see an actual schedule forming! Hooray! (and that picture of her is so stinkin' cute - love it!)
ReplyDeleteNathalia - it was nice to see you on my blog. And I'm happy for your Madeleine's new schedule. Having a well-rested baby is definitely worth all the heartache as you listen to her cry. Adara has recently fallen off of her schedule, and I can't wait to get us back on track.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Hooray for Madeleine! I'm excited for both of you! :) What a cutie.
