Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving 2008 recap:

Guests: Ryan (Marc’s brother), Bartons, Eads, Sister Lan, Lee (Lan’s friend), MaryEllen Pitman

Food: Delicious! Succulent turkey, too many amazing side dishes, and a new addition to the turkey fare… crabs! Sister Lan brought us and cooked us some crabs for the meal. Different but memorable! I realized that I have no fine china nor fine linens (next year!) so we had the table covered with fabric wraps from Mauritius and Madagascar (my mission). Looks a little crazy!

Holiday activities: cleaning; cooking; playing Settlers of Catan (Marc’s birthday gift) with Ryan and the Eads; embracing Thanksgiving gluttony and feasting; Ryan and Marc went to the Eagles vs. Cardinals game; the Eads stayed and helped me clean (thank you!); and I finished the night with Madeleine asleep and writing in my journal about all blessings I have, the gratitude I feel; shopping at King of Prussia Mall (madhouse!); eating Philly Cheese Steaks; hanging out







P.S. Yes, Ryan did eventually let Madeleine get that sucker. Madeleine really, really wanted it. And Ryan just couldn't refuse. Also, we broke Madeleine into solid foods (anything other than mother's milk) a few days before Thanksgiving so that she could really "feast" with the rest of us. It was perfect timing - 6 months old and Thanksgiving, truly a sign to start in the FOOD!
