Marc's Birthday

Marc turned 29 on the 24th! He usually shares his birthday with Thanksgiving, so this year I wanted him to have a party of his own. (Not that last year he was so gyped - I mean, I took him to Paris for his birthday!) I am happy so many of his friends came to support him. And the celebrations were expanded to include two other birthdays: Glen and Michael.

4 trays of enchiladas, salad, some fantastic desserts, and wonderful friends. Happy Birthday, Marc!

I made Marc a card listing 29 things that I loved about him. When I first started I thought 29 would be a stretch ;) but even days after his birthday, I keep thinking to myself, "Oh! I should've written that down! Oh! I should've told him I love this about him!" Good thing he'll just keep getting older and I can make plenty more cards just like that one. And I'm grateful that he's my eternal companion so I can tell him why I love him every single day!
I'm not going to list the 29 things here, but just for the sake of it I will list 9 random things about my man!

1. He really loves cartoons. We're talking from X-men to Pixar. He's the one who puts cartoons on our Netflix queue.

2. He is the man I needed to marry because he is soooo good at housework! Really, "stay-at-home Dad" was right in his cards. He's great at changing diapers, doing dishes, laundry, grocery shopping. I mean, I love this guy!

3. He studies like a machine. This guy has some solid concentration skills. I'm so proud of him and I know that's why he's done so well in medical school.

4. He has great lips. Great lips! You'll just have to trust me on this one.

5. He is an outdoorsman. *Real* camping is something that he really misses. He loves hiking and skiing and just being out in nature.

6. He doesn't mind sharing towels and toothbrushes. This man has no qualms over germs. It's kind of sicko. He would use a clean up rag that's been used on the floor and plop it right down on the counter top if I wasn't watching him. I think there is some vital brain connection missing on that one.

7. He is all about sleep. Not over-indulgence by any means, but he has a sleep schedule and he likes to stick to it. Rare is the night when he's up past 10pm and rare is the morning when he sleeps later than 7am. He believes that one should not read or watch TV in bed. Bed is for sleep. And sleep is good for the soul, says he.

8. He loves dark chocolate.

9. He likes to sing. Those of you who know him know that he is not shy about bursting into song. I love this quirky guy!

  1. I am bursting at the seams at the fact that your hubby loves cartoons. Glenn rents all of the old cartoons, and X-Men is one of them!

Happy birthday indeed, and thanks again for sharing it with us!

  2. It sounds like it was such a good time, I am sorry that I missed it. I know that Michael had a fun time and was happy to be included in the birthday festivities. Hopefully, we can all get together soon!

  3. I loved hearing about Marc. Of course, since you married him, it means he's wonderful. but it's nice to know the details of his wonderfulness. :)
Happy birthday - and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to everyone.
(And what more suitable word could I get for leaving my comment on a Francophile's page than "caisomm"? It really could be French!)
