Happy Father's Day!!

Okay, we're going to go a little out of order here because adding pictures to this blog layout can sometimes confuse me. This is Marc's Dad. I'm so grateful to him for raising Marc to be who he is. He works so hard to provide for his family and I must say that as a daughter-in-law, I love that I can communicate really well and openly with Marc's Dad! There are several aspects of my personality that I find that jive with Grant's, so I really appreciate that - makes it much more fun when I can get along really well with the F-in-L! He's such a good sport and really loves his kids. Marc has fond memories of camping and hiking with his Dad and I hope this carries on as Marc is a father! In fact, I'm sure it will...

Marc is a wonderful father! Happy 1st Father's Day, dear! It's incredible that from now until forever, there will never be another Father's Day where Marc is not a father. It's forever and we're so grateful to have Madeleine forever in our family. Marc has really adored taking care of Madeleine and does a great job. He constantly helps out and is very excited to take Madeleine anywhere, anytime. I love the picture of the recent new Dads, Alex and Marc at a recent dinner at a friend's house. Both burping their little girls! And Madeleine looks quite a bit like Marc! Her nose and lips for sure. I love my M & Ms!!!!! This Father's Day was also quite special, not just because it was the first, but also because Marc gave Madeleine a father's blessing. Since we won't be having her blessed at church until September when we're home in Utah with family, Marc gave Madeleine a beautiful first blessing. What a great Sunday. I love him! And Madeleine loves him, too!

It's was also a treat to be able to see my Dad so close to Father's Day this year. Having him and my mom here to help out right after Madeleine was born was such a relief and soooo wonderful! They totally dote on her and I don't blame them. And they were so good to Marc and I and our home... But now my Dad is also a GrandPapi! So exciting. My father is such a good man. I really admire him for how diligently he cares for and provides for our family. He's all about sacrifice and hard work and has such a humble, strong testimony of the gospel. Truly the greatest father and I'm so grateful for him. One of my favorite memories is that all through my childhood and teenage years, in fact, until the very moment I moved out for college, my Dad always came in to wake me up in the mornings. No alarm clock for me. It was just nice to know that he was there for me, every morning, sitting on the side of my bed, getting me out of bed, talking to me. He gives great hugs and is the most sincere Dad. I love him.

Happy Father's Day (though belated) to all the fathers out there...
