Back to Baby

I mean, can I really get enough of her? Can you? Unbelievable.

As for some stats on her: her head measured in the 9th percentile at her last peds visit (uh... didn't feel that small when she was coming out!), her 20 inch bod puts her in the 76th percentile for her age, and her chub 6 lbs. 11 oz. (up 4 oz from her birth weight, and up 9 oz. from her first peds visit a week prior) puts her in the 12th percentile for weight. What a girl! And she's really packin' on the weight - which we just love! This past Monday she got weighed and has broken 7 lbs. 2 oz.!

She really is smiling. It's true! Other things related to baby Madeleine:

She loves her Paw Paw (grandma); sleeps on her for hours!
She has a cute little birthmark that I'll call a raspberry kiss.
Her mama (me!) can see her toes now! It's crazy how quickly I forgot that I was preggo with a belly!
Her daddy (Marc!) is an expert burper and takes good care of both mama and girl.
She's out and about: went to the library when she was 5 days old, she went to her first BBQ when she was 6 days old, she's been to dim sum in Chinatown, watched daddy play volleyball out in the park, and been to Sacrament meeting twice. I think it's more nerve-racking on my part to have her out... getting ME ready is the big trauma, and it never goes well. In the end my clothes always end up soaked with milk. Oy chow vey.

Labor and delivery summary: fast. Got to the hospital at around 11:40 pm, she was born at 1:20 am! Awesome nurses. Supportive hubby. Darling baby. I love telling the story, so if you want details feel free to ask!

  3. lansinoh nursing pads, go to wal mart. they will save your life. don't try any other kinds no matter what they promise. give yourself a couple of months before going in public without them if you are worried about that little milk situation.......
