Before Baby...
I don't know how well this post will turn out...The picture layout may not work. We're going for content not aesthetics here (what's new, right?).
So, this is me the morning I went into labor, Saturday morning... little did I know! I had had an ache-y night so I decided to go to my last prenatal yoga class that morning.
Other events before baby Madeleine entered our life: Mother's Day dinner with the Bendixens! Thanks for some really wonderful food and hilarious times with your kiddos!
A week before I went into labor we spent the day in New York City. We attended the temple there, and met up briefly with our dear friends, the Ranes, who lived next door to us in New Haven. Then we ate lunch at Cafe Lalo on the upper West side. Can totally compete with Parisian cafes! You can click here for their to-die-for menu of desserts and brunch items. This cafe was featured in "You've Got Mail," all the more reason for me to love it! Unfortunately, my preggo hormones were making my food smell disgusting to me, even though I loved the taste of it. I topped it off with a berry tarte, though, that both smelled and tasted delicious!
We've also been having lots of fun dinners with friends. The weather makes it impossible not to break out the BBQ and enjoy! Here are Marc and his friends chilling after a scrumptious meal.
One of the dinners was bittersweet. The Reeders had a get together the day before they left and oh how we miss them! We met them the first day we moved to Philly and they will forever be in our hearts - we can't say enough good about them.

I also had a great visit from my two best friends! Just two days before I delivered... what a treat! It was so fun to spend time with them, see little Ben, and just chit chat. Katrina also made me - er, Madeleine - the most beautiful quilt! Amazing job, right? And Anne was the dear, thoughtful one who bought me a pregnancy massage - pure bliss. Oh yeah.
I wish we could have eaten at Lalo with you! OK, so maybe next time we will stay and things will smell better to you and then Madeleine can add Cafe Lalo to her list of places she's been!
