Les Cheveux

Although I need a change and a new 'do' for my own hair, I wasn't quite ready to let Marc get a new 'do.' But he did. If you've seen pics from our wedding, you'll think I'm some sort of crazy woman who likes her husband's hair unkempt. You are correct.

I love his boyish curls and frizzle frazzle! It goes with his carefree personality, I think. And, in the words of our Angolan second counselor in our ward, Brother Valente, "I love Marc's hair! He doesn't even look American! He's European! French! He looks French!" Well, voila! Such is why I like his long locks. I've been dreading and procrastinating cutting his hair for this very reason... Unfortunately, his hair is not as curly as it was when we were dating or got married, so for a while his hair has been long but NOT so cute. But I kept holding out because I love his hair, just hoping, hoping that it would curl more along the sides. Alas, no.

We've had friends threaten to cut his hair numerous times. He's been mocked and made fun of at church. Who knows what his friends at school and his professors think. One springy, windy day he walked into Bishopbric meeting and the Bishop looked up and said only, "Windy?" So, yeah, I get it... it's a little long, a little too crazy maybe.

Well, our friend Sam took matters into his own hands a week ago and offered to cut Marc's hair. And I let him. My mistake! (;) Just kidding, Sam.) I should have realized that a military man was not the best choice for a barber. Oy. Marc is still as adorable as ever to me, but I really miss his hair and I don't recognize him half the time. Plus I feel like he looks younger than me by about 10 years! Nowadays it's "better" because he's trying to grow a beard as long as the hair on his head *(NOT HARD, since it's sooo short!)* so he doesn't look so young. But I can't wait for Marc's hair to grow back!
