Weekend Travel Part I: Boston

The second weekend in October, my Wellesley Alumnae Club flew me to Boston to attend a Leadership Council. I went back to my beautiful Alma Mater (see pictures below), stayed at the Marriott, and got to see a few friends who linger in the area. It was a VERY fast trip, but it was so nice to be back in that city. BOSTON! I love it! Besides the very cold, cold winters with lots of wind, Boston/Cambridge, with its cobblestone, awesome transit (T) system, and millions of students represents to me the mecca of academics, the incubation ground for intellect. I love it. I even felt smarter just walking around there! Particularly MIT campus where my dear friends had me over for dinner. Harvard is beautiful and has that classic charm, but MIT is just so cool! Basically I'm a slave lover to nerdiness. Thanks to Jonina and Aaron for having me over for dinner - it was great to see Erin, and a New Haven friend, Eva (Jonina's sister!) there that night as well!

The conference was inspiring and I've been ever more laden with work volunteering for the Philadelphia Club of Wellesley. Being back on the gorgeous campus made all the work worth it (although I still grumble sometimes). Just like my first month there as a first-year (we don't say FreshMEN...), I wandered the campus in awe and joy, practically singing the Sound of Music out loud. I love Boston and Wellesley!!

  1. That's awesome that Wellesley flew you out. And it looks just beautiful there. Alex and I definitely need to road trip to Boston and get tips from you on where to go.
