Rites of Spring
As an update, Marc and I had our first BBQ of the year (and, incidentally, our first in Philly) last Sunday. We invited some of our friends from church and some of Marc's med school mates. Pics to come. Food was delicious and I'm getting better at fixing enough food to feed an army. A far cry from growing up in a family of 4. Marc was, of course, used to it, with that crazy family of 7 kids! He was a master of the grill that night and everyone loved it!
We also went down to the D.C. Temple a couple weekends ago and I finally have a pic of the gorgeous temple grounds and our very cool friend, Edwin, who came with us. Nobody is as sweet and as cool at this 16 year old. What a great trip!
We also had the pleasure of having our friends, Lori and Andrew, come down to Philly and visit us in our
tiny and humble abode! We met this amazing couple up in New Haven and miss them dearly. Their cultural awareness, knowledge of languages, and musical talents never cease to amaze me. Ode to them! Another reminder of how Marc and I keep fascinating company. We are so lucky to know so many awesome people!
We also went bowling with the cutest family ever, the Reeders. Their little boy (hopefully, a pic to
come soon, or you can access their link on my page) is so adorable, with these cute Teddy Roosevelt cheeks! I bowled poorly, but maybe it's because I was distracted by how ugly my bowling shoes were! What happened to the good old fashioned, lace-up bowling shoes that I loved?! The ones I used to want to steal and sport around town because I thought they looked so cool?
Lastly, I make me feel like a new woman! Pictures can't do it justice, but I just got a hair cut and I look good! Those $15 haircuts from, yes, The Chop Shop, can't do me wrong! I think I look like a horse when my hair gets long, s
o every time I cut it, I love it, no matter the style. New life plan: Christy and I quit our jobs and try out for America's Next Top Model (if I had cable I'd watch this religiously-- as it is, I have to settle for fragments from YouTube). We will, of course, become the top two finalists, and then... well, I don't know what would happen. Either our vanity would combine, combust and kill us both off, or they may have to admit 2 Miss Metisses as America's Next Top Models!
Look good Babe! Haven't seen you for a few months you look older--uh, I mean more maturely looking.
ReplyDeleteMarc does look like he gains a little on the tummy, now I can even see it in picture. Guess married life agrees with him. Good thing, 'cos it's my daughter he marries!
