[Quick! Write this down somewhere before I forget!]
While changing Sophie's diaper Madeleine was tickling Sophie's tummy and generally being a loving older sister. Then she pokes Sophie's belly button and tries to teach Sophie about belly buttons. Then Madeleine points to her 'spot' or birthmark on her belly, a few inches above her belly button.
"That's not my belly button. That's where God kissed me." {This is what we've told her: it's a spot where God kissed her before He sent her here to earth.} ..."Where's Sophie's spot?"
Me: "Oh, Sophie doesn't have a spot. Just a belly button."
M: "Well, did God kiss her?"
Me: "Well, God might have kissed her before she came to us, but it didn't leave a mark."
M: contemplative, pondering... "Maybe God didn't kiss her. [eyes widen!] Maybe He doesn't love her?!"
Hahahahaha! Ahhhh, no. I assured Madeleine that God loves Sophie. All of us. Spot or no spot.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you wrote that one down. Miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I think most of us have spots that are on the inside. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today, as I noticed something on my head very akin to your "unicorn hair" that you posted about awhile back. Did you ever resolve that issue or is it still there?
