What's with today, today?

Of dishes: Suppose you have a large party. Or just a large amount of dishes to do. Do you clear the table and proceed to pile ALL the dishes into the sink? Or, put a few in the sink, and neatly stack the rest to the side of the sink? [Suppose the dishwasher is full of either already dirty dishes or clean dishes yet to be put away. The sink is your only option.] I am of the latter. Marc is of the former. Sigh.

Of Madeleine's play conversations: [moving trains around a track] "I'm not nasty! I'm beautiful. Choo-choo! Oh no! I can't reach it! Move, nasty! Help! ...Oh no! We're going to crash! Then something rumbles, RUMBLES!!! The track is moving. ...Oh no! We'd better get off!" I think the 'nasty' is my favorite part. She learned the word about 2 weeks ago. Everything is either nasty or not. It has replaced the word 'messy' or 'crazy'. It's hilarious.

Of rainy days: The kids go bonkers around 3:30pm. We've already been to a toy store. We've made umbrellas and danced all around the house naked [the girls, not I] to our favorite songs from 'Singing in the Rain.' We've made quick bread. We've got dinner ready. We've splashed in numerous puddles outside. We've read stories. Thank goodness my mom is coming [!!!!] in an hour and Marc is NOT on call tonight. We will survive!

  2. nasty! Love it! Lilli manages to add "scary" and/or "scary monster" into every sentence, not quite sure where she picked that up...oops maybe she watched the haunted mansion everyday for about two months! eek
