I picked up Madeleine from babysitting yesterday and this was our conversation in the car:
M: The leaves are falling!
Me: Yes, the leaves are falling off the trees because it's autumn.
M: Autumn? Leaves fall because Jesus is coming?
Me: Ahhh.... yeah, yes, Jesus will come again. Someday.
M: [pause] [elation] Jesus LOVES me!!!
Me: Yes, He does!
M: Jesus loves Mommy!
Walking the other day in the botanical gardens as a family, as she holds my hand and Marc is a few steps ahead of us:
M: MARC! Hold hands!
Singing to herself:
A, b, c, d, e, f, g... next time don't sing with me.
