((Almost) Midnight Confessions and Procrastinations

This will probably be the beginning of a series of posts to continue for years to come, for I imagine that I will continually be procrastinating some sort of paper, manuscript, or duty in the wee hours of the night with absolutely nothing to distract me except... this blog!

So, here's to random postings and confessions - similar to my friend's Sunday Night Confessions.

* I love to pop open a can of green beans, peas, or corn and call it dinner. Satisfied me in college and I'm not opposed to it now.

* I forgot to wear deodorant two days in a row. (But I did shower both days! Twice, even, one day.)

* While at Wildwood on the Jersey Shore this weekend I came *~this~* close to entering Madeleine in a Beautiful Baby contest and parade that has been going on for 100 years.

* Last night I cried for over an hour - sobbing uncontrollably - in bed because I had a nightmare that Marc had died in a plane crash. In the nightmare I was going through the motions of calling my MIL and my mom with the horrifying news, my hometeachers for a blessing, and booking a flight for myself and two kids to Utah for the funeral. It was a miserable night. The dream that I had in the wee hours of the morning involved my PhD advisor counseling me on journal submissions as we rode a train in India.

* Madeleine's outfits today consisted of pjs, swimsuit, noting-but-bare-baby-butt, and pjs.

* And here's some pictures:

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one with dreams like that. I've even woken Glenn up before! It's a good thing you didn't enter your babe in the contest, because none of the other babies would have stood a chance!

  3. You have no idea how many beatings I have recieved for not being adequately upset about some deed committed in my wifes dreams. "why arent you upset? someone died! DOn'y you inderstand, they died!!"

    "Honey, its 3am, its a dream. No one died."

    "Ugh.. I can't believe you."

  4. I hate upsetting dreams. I also used to like doing vegetables for dinner... quick & easy! However, a family changes things. :) I think I would be in big trouble now if I only served vegetables for dinner. :)

  6. I hate those dreams that seem too real and I feel bad for ya but, am I the only one who noticed you said two kids...? was it just the dream or the inclination of the near future?? :)

  8. Well at least you didn't dream that Marc was a Black Rider from Lord of the Rings coming to get you. Lori then shook me awake just as I got caught by the Rider. I jumped up right out of bed!

  9. I can't believe how grown up Madeline is. Last night Libby drew a picture of Madeline. She really had an impact on Libby. Miss you guys. Were sending vibes of Happy Dreams your way.

  10. I completely sympathize and relate to your dream, I have them all the time, I even bring myself to tears sometimes when I am awake if Eric gets home from school late and I think he got beaten and mugged or something...Madeleine is such a darling! You should have entered her in that contest!

  11. The Hub skipped a trip to a Penn State football game last fall because I had a dream he died in a car wreck on the way up there (ironically, I didn't dream about his buddies dying so they still went). I'm not sure he completely forgives me yet. But at least he's alive :)
