Shop and Save!

I grew up with a Mom who used coupons. I know that my parents are extremely frugal and Marc's parents are too. They both fed their families (mine of 4 and Marc's of 7) on very tiny budgets. I definitely admire this quality. When Marc and I were first married, he was a coupon, grocery-shopping saving guru. He even had a spreadsheet for good deals. It borderlined crazy. I personally hate grocery shopping - the use of coupons and the cold dairy/deli/meat sections always made me want to get out of the store as quickly as possible.

Well, this morning I watched some morning show and they featured a truly inspiring lady... let's call her Coupon Mom. I may not get into it as much as she does, but when she's coming out of a grocery store with a cart FULL of food and only paying 0, that's right, ZERO dollars $$$ - I take note! Or she usually gets savings of 50 - 80% off her grocery bill each time she shops! That's awesome!

Here's her website and I just signed up for it... who knows how much I'll actually get into it, but the IDEA of it is great and who can't, in this day and age, want to save a little money? Plus, with our Bishop (and Prophet) encouraging us to get an additional one month's supply of food storage, grocery savings could really lend to the effort! A friend from New Haven also had some inspiring runs with couponing... which you can read about here.

  1. I remember living in New Haven without a car and asking you guys to take Brooke and myself to the grocery store. 10 hours later and after going to 50 different stores we had used all of the coupons! I remember thinking; didn't we just lose all our savings in gas? Either way; coupons, wheelin and dealin is too fun, and with Marc's super duper "you mean this is free now" coupons you can't lose!
    PS Thanks for the rides!
