Brotherly Love

Did you know I have a younger (not little) brother? Well, for the first time in... I dunno... maybe 14 years, I was in Utah and able to celebrate his birthday with him! The girls were thrilled to have a birthday to celebrate. And they love their Uncle Brian...although sometimes, like in the early morning, Sophie is actually scared of him. I love him, too.
Madeleine spent HOURS thinking about what kind of cake she was going to make her uncle. She was naming off the most random things... and presented several of those ideas to Brian. Her cake repertoire that she was offering included: clock cake, deer cake, car cake, carpet cake, dolphin cake, snake cake, girl cake, leaf cake, pink cake, green cake, fish cake... the fish cake sounded good to Brian (being an avid fly fisher) and so he filled her in on the details of the aesthetics of a trout. She made him a rainbow trout cake.

And even though we wanted her to put the gummy worm in front of the fish's mouth, appropriately, she insisted it sit smack dab in the middle. Oh well... her creation. She was so proud!

Happy birthday old man! At this rate, we'll be able to celebrate with you again when you turn 44!

This is my family (minus Marc). And I love them.
