1. They started playing Christmas music on the radio last night! I heard it and my heart swelled with joy! A little too early? Maybe. But I listened anyway. 'Tis a joyful season!

2. I think that I resemble Brad Pitt in his character in Oceans 11. Why? Because I'm always eating! I realized this last night in class. Rarely has there been a class where I wasn't prepared with food to munch on. From popcorn, to apples, chocolate, granola bar, cheese & crackers, candy, grapes, chips, carrots, you name it. I don't know why, but in my head 2.5 hours of class (especially from 5:30-8pm) seems inconceivable without food. And so I munch. That's probably all my classmates will remember about me. The girl who snacked.

3. 7 more hours and I hope to be an official PhD candidate!!! My last PhD preliminary/comprehensive exam is today!!!

4. I want to kick off this Thanksgiving season with a shout-out to my wonderful family. My darling daughter and my caring husband have been so amazing these past few weeks (and always). I definitely feel their support and love. And more than that... they just make me SO happy!!! Really just full of joy in my heart when I look at them or hug them. (Will post pictures and a marathon post about Madeleine soon.) And I also owe so much to my parents, brother, and Marc's family. I'm so blessed!!! I love family!

  4. Ben thinks it's hilarious when he sees classmates whipping out spreads of food in class! You WILL be remembered as the girl who snacked:) Ben remembers one girl always brought an entire meal to class...bottles of dressing, salad, cut up chicken, crutons and she'd just assemble her dinner/lunch in class. Awesome. Now that's what I call a time saving dinner on the go!

So excited for your PhD!!! You are incredible!
